Salty Toad in Waukesha

I didnt even give this place my buisness because my friend wasnt allowed in because they had a neck tattoo and a very small face tattoo. (My friend has to have one of the biggest hearts too) That has to be one of the stupidest rules I have ever heard. My group of friends turned around and walked right back out. That's a ridiculous rule and they lost our business.

The phrase "You leave there with more problems than you walked in with" is what you will hear from people who know of this place. It's never the first stop you make, but as crowds thin at other local bars, most people inevitably make the decision to give this place another shot. The employees and security are GREAT and FRIENDLY but for some reason, this bar is just a breeding ground for college punks who identify themselves as "I go to Madison" to pick fights, and for girls to be obnoxiously rude and despicable to their own friends.

Salty Toad is a fun dive bar with lots to do. Darts, pool, bags etc. The bartender was very attentive and fun!

Long island ice teas are fantastic! Love the atmosphere and music. Great place to hang out with friends and enjoy some drinks. Would highly recommend. Cant wait to go back.

Always crowded late at night but always a good time!

Fun bar until 9pm then the younger crowd takes over, but still fun. Just louder ;)

If you're looking to dance and have a good night, the toad is the place to be! They have great music playing, great bartenders ready to have a fun time, and are welcoming to everyone! I used to go out in Milwaukee, but after experiencing the toad, it's not worth my time or money to go to Mil. They have great deals and it's the only place where you can actually dance in Waukesha! If you're looking to have a great time and get a little sweaty, this would definitely be my #1 choice! Plus, there are some sweet bottles hanging from the ceiling that are flattened, I even had to google how to make them cause they look awesome!

Way better than I remember it. Used to be kinda ghetto. Was way more crazy before. Worth the stop.

The salty load is a waukesha classic. Dirty drinks and dirty people always make for a great time. That is, if you want to get your dirty dancing on.

Very flavorful wings with many sauces. Fish fry excellent..potato pancakes superb.

Fun place! Some great bartenders (Shoutout to Cailin!) but some have no idea what they are doing.

Places decent big 20s 30s crowd

May just not be my crowd because it seems popular enough. I prefer a bar with more emphasis on quality drinks and atmosphere. Salty Toad is more about new drinkers, cheap drinks, and dancing.

Great food and drinks. I've been there for both wing night and fish fry Fridays. Wing night has a great variety of sauce flavors and the fish fry is one of the best I've had. Also can't pass up their pot stickers.

Great place to hang out and the owners make amazing food. Thursday night tacos are amazing, come on down.

Prices for drinks good but the drinks are weak.

Service is great, but food selection needs improvement.

They are very liberal with their usage of salt. If you like a salty beer visit this establishment.There is also an element of thrill when visiting this quaint tavern. It keeps you on your toes with the constant chance of being in a scrap with a regular or the possibility of being stabbed in the abdomen. Also make sure to wear old shoes, because the floor is sticky and you might step in vomit.

Best fish frt around

I waited forever to get a club soda with cranberry, no alcohol. When I got to the counter, there was a man sitting at the bar drinking saying he worked there and he’d help get drinks. He told me he couldn’t get my drink because it not having Alcohol will ruin his reputation and he walked away. Another guy ordered two beers and ordered my drink for me so I could get it. So... not very pleasant. And the security guys definitely hate their job. You can tell because they’re rude AF.

VERY GOOD FOOD ESPECIALLY FRIDAY NITE ALL YOU CAN EAT ALASCAN COD FISH FRY. JUST LIKE THE GOOD OLD DAYS LOTS OF SIDES WITH IT. AND HAPPY HOUR WHAT CAN I SAY COME HAPPY LEAVE HAPPY. PLUS LIVE MUSIC AND DANCEING. OR U NAME IT.

We love their wing and taco specials! All made fresh to order and taste delicious. We drive from Milwaukee to have a little bit of that small town feel.

The fish and fries with truffle oil and parmesan cheese is to die for. It's a party In your mouth. The bar maids give excellent service and the bouncer are respectful. I love the atmosphere and I can't wait to return. Thanks everyone for a great time.

I've been going here for years now and it just gets better and better. The atmosphere is fun, the music is great (and while it's loud on Friday and Saturday nights when people want to be out dancing, it's *not* too loud on other evenings when people want to just hang out), the food is good, the prices are reasonable, and the space offers everything I'd ever look for in a bar. Dance floor, darts, two pool tables, lots of bar space, tons of parking nearby. It's a good place. Check it out.

Love this place. Bartenders are awesome. I love that I can relax sometimes or go dancing queen crazy on the dance if I want to.

Where do I even begin... the salty toad has been a staple in the community for many years, but every time I have been there I have been VERY disappointed and disrespected. You would think that after being in the community for so long they would treat customers properly. I have seen the staff become extremely aggressive with the college aged visitors and especially the girls that come in, often making me feel uncomfortable for them and scared for their safety. They have a reputation of serving minors especially on the big party weekends. I would not recommend going to the Salty Toad. You're better off going somewhere that still values their customers.

I usually stop there for a fish fry when I attend the festivities at Friday Night Live in downtown Waukesha. The staff is very friendly, attentive, and the fish fry is good. You get plenty to eat.

There is a particular bartender who is rude and very unprofessional. She’s been there forever and until she’s done no one I know will frequent there again. Idk her name but she’s a tall brunette and she’s so rude to female customers.

Kicked me out for opening a door. After reasonably explaining to managment, that there was no sign on the door stating "emergency exit" or "firedoor". And after acknowledging i opened a door for no reason other than fresh air, i was escorted out aggressively, barely able to grab my jacket or close my tab. Staff was hostile and rude, bar was understafffed. I wouldnt go back if i got payed

Great outdoor location and band was exceptional!

There was karaoke on Friday and people were very friendly and unconditional as far as the staff. The crowd was lively and personable. Made friends and had a good time in doing it this weekend.

Real nice

If you want to be harrassed by the bouncers just to get in this is the place to go. The drinks are servered in cheap soft plastic cups similar to a fastfood cup. When i threw one of those said cups away another bouncer came up to me and yelled at me because "we reuse those!". This bar is for trash people would not recommend going

Good bar service, owners nice, dj is great on Saturdays. Came back to edit my review honestly they have the best prices in the area and literally all the bad reviews are trolls. I'd they allowed dogs, boscos would be r.i.p

I've literally seen people stabbed outside of this place. We went here for a friend's birthday and the bar was packed 3 deep, ineffectual bartender made things worse. i would have left after waiting 30 minutes for a drink, but i was already trapped in the crowd.
